[After watching Part One of Ed Lapple's Artist Interview series on Shane O'Brien I realized I had video of us jammin' so I'm adding it here. We have had a lot of fun together making music and videos.]
Sometime in 2009, right before our annual 4th of July JAM at the CAM over at lakeelsinorecam.com, my good friend insisted that I had to meet this guy Shane. He said that he was going to bring him to the party and he would knock my socks off. He was right.
From the first moment Shane O'Brien came into my yard I knew I had a new friend. We hit it off right away and he asked me to help him with a music video he wanted to do. He had recently been nominated for the “Acoustic Album of the Year 2009” For the 19th Los Angeles Music Awards. What he needed was a video to play on the big screen behind him at his showcase. He had a great idea and a great song and we jammed in my living room for the first time. I'll add the video below. It is one of those things that just happened spontaneously in the Magic House. This was the first time I'd ever heard the song.
The showcase video is a thing of beauty, an inspiring tribute to our armed forces that has since reached around the world. You can find a live version from the lakeelsinorecam.com stage at his website under the video tab.

We played all weekend that 4th of July and he is part of one of my favorite videos: me playing the drums for the first time ever. In my big goofy hat I sat behind the drums for a sound check and all of a sudden Frank started playing the blues. Shane jumped in, plugging in his famous signature acoustic guitar and Mark Landers, the drummer, grabbed a bass. What could I do? I played the drums!
Most recently we got together to shoot some video and Shane and Ed and I played one of my new songs "Anytime You Want"
I will never forget this guy. Once you get to know him I am sure you won't either. Enjoy!
Stay Tuned!
There's more.
